SERVANTS OF THE SACRED HEART
Father Yermo Schools is conducted by the “Corporation of Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Poor” (SSHJP).  The corporation is a non-profit organization whose principal purpose is to serve the poor and underprivileged people wherever they may be found with activities not limited to the operation of nonprofit schools and educational institutions for pre-school centers, elementary and high schools and adult classes.

The sisters are assisted in their mission by more than 70 teachers and staff members who collaborate in different positions with specific job descriptions stipulated in the Corporation’s “Handbook of Policies and Regulations.”

Some of the characteristics of the educational philosophy of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Poor,  are Integrity, Coherence, Pluralistic Approach, and Unity of Teaching.

1)   Integrity refers to educating the human being in all his/her possibilities and  creativity  within  his/her own historical and social circumstances.

2)  Coherence to blend all subject matters, techniques and institutions to educate the whole person within a Christian humanism.

3) Pluralistic approach to recognize the values in all cultures, and the positive advancements of science and technology in order to promote social development.

4)  Unity to form a Christian conscience where all human values find its own fulfillment.

The SSHJP educational philosophy is based on love, humbleness and modesty,  creating an environment of freedom, self expression, joy and friendship necessary to cultivate human-Christian values.
